| Advertising Rates Because of increased costs, some of our advertising rates have gone up. New rates are effective April 1, 2008 This site, virginiacitynews.com, averages 400 visitors per day Monday through Friday, and between 200 and 300 on each weekend day. Classified advertisements on Virginia City News are free for individuals and for businesses, it is $1 per word, per month. All classified ads are on the advertising page only. Business display ads, which get more attention, are available for $50 per month for a 2x2 ad or $100 per month for a 5x2 banner ad. Businesses with six-month agreements receive one month free, for a total of $250 for a 2x2 ad and $500 for a banner ad. Ask about our specials. Ads will be located on the front page. To be located on more than one page, the cost will be $25 for each additional page. There is no guarantee where on the front page your ad will be placed. That depends on news, news photos and other factors. One banner ad spot is available at the top for $250 per month. Banner ads can be vertical or horizontal. Ads can link to the business web site. Video will be added to an ad for $100 in addition to the regular rate. Changes to the ad can be made weekly without charge. More frequent changes will cost $20 per time changed.
